How to install your brick veneer panels
Follow the simple instructions below to install DuraBric using our brick veneer panels. For more detailed information download the specific DuraBric profile install guide you need.
BEFORE YOU START INSTALLING BRICK VENEER PANELS
Check all DuraBric panels are the right way up. All panels need to be installed with the mortar line at the top, above the first row of bricks.

Work out the brick pattern
To maintain the correct brick pattern and make sure the brick veneer panels look authentic install DuraBric panels using an offset layout. Offset every second row of panels 1½ – 3½ bricks. Cut the panel overhang at the end of the row and use to fill the offset gap.
If alternate panel rows are not offset the brick pattern may not align correctly and panel edges may be more visible on the finished wall.

PREPARATION
It is important to prepare the panels before you start installing your brick veneer. Panels being used on an outside wall will also need to be sealed before installation.
- Ensure the edges of sheets are free from excess brick.
- Cut panels (if required) using a masonry disc in a circular saw or angle grinder.
- Mitre corners at 45 degrees.
ADDITIONAL PREPARATION FOR OUTDOOR USE
DuraBric panels can be installed on an outside wall, to create an authentic brick finish. But, it is important the DuraBric panels do not get wet. Panels MUST be completely sealed with an acrylic waterproof/membrane paint before installing. The paint must be applied to the whole panel as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
We recommend Crommelin Fix & Finish, available from Bunnings, which comes in 8 pre-mixed colours. Alternatively, the white can be tinted to a specific colour or a different finish applied over the painted panels, after installation.
- Make sure panels and substrate are dry.
- Seal the panels completely – front, back and sides – with an acrylic waterproof/membrane paint (such as Crommelin Fix & Finish) to protect from becoming wet after installation.
- Use non-corrosive stainless steel or galvanised screws.
INSTALLATION
DuraBric panels need to be installed over a continuous substrate such as plaster, 6-8mm bracing ply, Gyproc or Blueboard. If there are exposed brick corners in high traffic indoor areas consider using corner trims.
- Start by installing the bottom panels first and work upwards to the top.
- Panels need to be butt-joined. The half bricks on each panel will align to create full bricks.
- Screw through the brickface, not the mortar lines, to fix panels in place.
- 10-12 screws per panel is recommended.
- Sink screws approximately 2mm into brick face.
- Conceal all screw holes and corner gaps with filler provided.
- Filler supplied is ready to use – do not add water.
- Sand with an off-cut piece of DuraBric, brickface-to-brickface, to remove excess filler.
Once the DuraBric panels have been installed apply your preferred finish to the brick face.
